My weekend...
I am so glad it is FINALLY Friday!!! Michael sent me a text message this morning saying he is taking me out tonight. He said we can go anywhere I want to. I'm thinking maybe Olive Garden... I dunno, any ideas?

Tomorrow we will be headed to Tullahoma (did I spell that right?), TN for Becky and Kyle's wedding. One down like 500 more weddings this year to attend!

We don't have much planned for Sunday...probably work out in the yard and do some cleaning. It is also our 1 year anniversary so we are going to make spaghetti and watch "The Notebook" again!

What do you have planned?

1 Year
A lot has happened in the past year. On Sunday Michael and I will be celebrating one year from the day we met!

For those of you that don't know, we met each other online last March. The last week of March 2005 I went to Kansas to visit my grandmother and great grandmother. The entire time I was there Michael and I stayed up most hours of the night on the phone. It is hard to believe but I truly felt a connection with him through the phone! The day after I got home from Kansas (April 2) we finally met in person. From that day on we have hardly be apart. Here is the past year in a nut shell (looking back, I can't believe we did it so quick, but I am sooooo happy we did!!!):

April 2: We met! Watched "The Notebook" at his apartment.

June 4: I quit my job at Monte Sano Terrace and moved in with him in Decatur (I LOVE not working 7 days a week!!!)

June 11: Brought Lily (our cat) home from Michael's mom's house (Michael's mom's cat is Lily's mommy)

Mid-August: Moved from Decatur ghetto apartment into Weston Ranch Apartments in Madison

Sept 19: Had major surgery and was out of work for over 2 weeks.

Sept. 23: Got engaged (yes, I was still drugged from surgery)

Nov. 4: Bought Lexi (our crazy puppy)

Nov. 11: Bought our first house!!!!!

Dec. 10: Got married in our first house!!!!

Dec.17-20: Honeymoon in Gatlinburg, TN

The past few months haven't been going at such a fast pace! During the past year I have been happier than I have ever been. Michael has been more than a boyfriend/fiancé/husband to me, he has been my best friend. I can not imagine my life without him in it. Not only is he wonderful but I have a whole new family of wonderful wonderful people and I feel truly blessed.

What is next for us? Only time will tell...

For Ronda
I came across this poem a few months ago when searching for some quotes for my scrapbook. I found it on my computer again today and thought it was perfect for Ronda and sweet baby Scout. Meeting Scout yesterday was magical, she is beautiful just like her mother.

Baby Girl

Nestled sweetly in your arms,
Is a touch of the Father's love.
A tiny, slumbering baby girl,
Fresh from Heaven above.
Cherish each tender moment,
As you look on her tiny face;
For you're holding a priceless treasure,
Wrapped in ribbons, roses and lace.

Soon, this tiny bundle of pink,
Will grow into a little girl;
With baby dolls and dress up clothes,
And a ballerina twirl.
With a sparkle in her laughing eyes,
She'll steal your heart away.
So hold tight to this special gift,
And memories of this day.

Dreams
Do you ever wonder if the dreams you have will really happen? Or If what you dream about is really something you want to happen?

I had a dream the other night that I was offered a new job and my salary was more than what Michael and I currently make combined. I decided to take the job (I had kids in my dream) and we decided that Michael would stay at home with the kids.

As long as I can remember I have always been torn between wanting to be a stay at home mom and wanting a career. I guess some of this comes from the fact that most of my life my mom was at home with me and my sister. I had friends whose mother's worked and I always felt lucky to be able to come home to my mom after school. She would be there to help us with homework and make afternoon snacks. Now that I am older I understand why sometimes it is not feasible to be a stay at home mom for some families. If I were to have a baby today there is no way we could afford for me to stay at home.

A few days after I had the dream there was a segment on the Today Show about how mothers that stay home with their kids and mothers who work do not see things eye to eye. It talked about how mothers that stay home think working mothers are "taking the easy way out" and how they should not even have kids unless they are willing to take care of them and not have babysitters to do it. Then they talked about how working moms feel that stay at home moms have it too easy and all they do is sit around at home. Personally, I don't see why all of this is such a big deal. People do what is best for THEIR family not other peoples families. After seeing all the things my mom did for me and my sister growing up she did not "have it too easy." She was always doing something for us or the house. She even did things for the "working" mothers like be our classroom mom and take their children to ball practices and watch them after school some days. I really don't know what the right balance is between working and staying home with your kids, only time will tell for me.

Back to the dream, yesterday my mom said "Wouldn't it be cool if you made enough money and Michael could stay at home and take care of the house and kids." I can't believe a few days after I had that exact dream she said that. We don't even have kids yet and I am worry about this.... CRAZY!

This weekend was GREAT
The grand total for money raised from ticket sales was $3,786... I don't have a total for the t-shirts, buttons and lollipops but I think it was around $400. The show was AWESOME... every year I think it can't get better and then it does. It's not to late to donate to the cause! All of the proceeds from this year go to the Madison County Community Free Clinic. We still have several events left (you can donate money too)!!!

self defense class Friday @ Alexander's Martial Arts 6:00
drag king show @ Upscale Friday night at about 10:00
erotic bingo @ Crossroads, March 19 @ 8:00
adult toy party @ Wild rose, March 23 @ 6:30
wine tasting @ The Wine Cellar, March 27 4:30-6:30

I'm ready for March 18
Michael and I have not had a weekend off together for SEVERAL weeks. I hate not having a few days together. It seems like the past couple weeks we've just seen eachother in passing. The DAYS he works he leaves at 5:30 in the morning and doesn't get home until about 8:00 pm. By the time we get dinner and stuff one of us is ready to pass out. Then the days he works NIGHTS he leaves before I even get home from work and gets home in the morning about 10 minutes before I leave for work the next day (this week he is on nights and it SUCKS). OK, sorry this post is just me complaining... I just miss him...
