Not Starving Artists Anymore
Today we made some starving artist not so starving anymore. All week I had been seeing the commercials about sofa sized oil paintings no higher than $59. We have absolutely NO art in our new house so we decided to use some of the money we made on the Jeep (yes, we sold it in one day!!!). My mom went with us to the Holiday Inn downtown to check out the one day sale.

First off, we should have went before we did. You could tell that at 11:00 when they opened they had a TON of stuff. By the time we got there a lot was gone. Michael came across a beautiful sofa sized painting of a pond like scene. I picked it up and carried it around, I thought we might find something we liked better. While I had it in hand four or five people asked if I was sure I wanted it, they wanted it too. **side note, Michael just made me a yummy martini**

As we were looking through the stacks I was drawn to the old cafe looking ones. They all had bright colors and looked like they were set in the streets of Italy. I picked out one that was about 15x35 and two others that went along with it that were about 10x20.

Four paintings (and frames) and about $250(had to buy the frames seperate) later we headed home to do some hanging. The large one looks wonderful above our love seat in the living room. We put the other three on the large wall in the dining/kitchen area. I am so happy to no longer have all bare walls! My mom didn't fine anything that struck her fancy, she was looking for something a little more abstract.

Got to go... Michael's parents are almost here to take us to Olive Garden for Michael's birthday dinner. I'll eat a breadstick for you.
